A Spring of Fundraising at Crane & Staples
Crane & Staples is proud to support charitable causes in the community. Over the last few months, our team have participated in a range of exciting events. Here is a summary of what we have been up to:
March for March - East & North Hertfordshire NHS Trust Charitable Fund
On 14 March 2019, some of the team at Crane and Staples took part in the March for March campaign, walking just over a mile around Welwyn Garden City. This was to raise money for East and North Herts NHS Trust, enabling them to purchase two interactive play mats for children at the Lister Hospital. Despite the cold weather, it was a lovely walk through the town centre and the team were pleased to support this cause.
London Marathon – Cancer Research UK
On 28th April, our Accounts Manager, Matt Clibbon, successfully completed the London Marathon. We are so proud of Matt’s achievement. Clearly all that training with the Crane & Staples Running Club paid off! Matt ran for Cancer Research UK and so far he has raised an incredible £1,088!
Partner and keen cyclist Michael Scutt completed a 60 mile bike ride on 5th May, in aid of the Willow Foundation. Willow is a fantastic local charity that provides special days out to seriously ill 16-40 year olds. It was a wonderful day that brought local people together and Mike was also very pleased to meet Willow Ambassador David Seaman. Well done Mike!
Bubble Rush – Hospice of St Francis
Team Crane & Staples, made up of Elizabeth Russell, Tom Axon, Sophie Byrne and Sara Dobson, had great fun at the 5km Bubble Rush in Hemel Hempstead on 12th May. This was for The Hospice of St Francis in Berkhamsted, and the money raised will go towards improving end-of-life care for over 2,000 people every year.
Abseil Challenge - East & North Hertfordshire NHS Trust Charitable Fund
On 19th May, fearless solicitor, Tahir Nisar, abseiled down the side of the 11-storey tower block at Lister Hospital, to raise money for the East and North Herts NHS Trust fund. So far, Tahir has earned over triple his target, plus the respect of his colleagues, who were not brave enough to have a go!
Race for Life – Cancer Research UK
Well done to Bonnie, Sharon, Lizzy, Tom, Sheryl, Katie and Annabel for completing the 5K Race for Life on 2nd June. The team braved the heat and really enjoyed the comradery of the event. This was a fantastic way of raising money for such an important charity and team Crane & Staples did us proud.
Overall, it has been an eventful Spring of fundraising at Crane & Staples and we are so impressed with the hard work and commitment shown by our team. We look forward to more fundraising events throughout the year.
