Lasting Power of Attorney Registration Fees Reduced!
Do you have Lasting Powers of Attorney in place? Court fees have just been reduced by 25% to encourage people to write one. Why not give yourself peace of mind by writing yours now?
Lasting Powers of Attorney can be invaluable documents in challenging times when people lose capacity to manage their affairs, or choose to have someone else do to so on their behalf.
As of 1 April 2017 the court fee to register a Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA) was reduced from £110 per document to £82 per document – meaning if you register both a Property and Financial Affairs LPA and a Health and Welfare LPA there will be a £56 saving.
This is a significant reduction in the cost of registering a LPA, and we hope that this will encourage individuals who do not yet have Lasting Powers of Attorney in place to consider writing one.
If you are unfamiliar with how Powers of Attorney work, you can find out more here and of course we will be very happy to help you with the process. Many of our clients also find this a good opportunity to update their will.
