Crane & Staples – Charity events throughout the year
Crane & Staples is a proud supporter of a variety of charities throughout the year, from Isabel Hospice Make a Will Week to Children in Need.
In March, the Private Client team took part in the Isabel Hospice Make a Will Week in which they give their time free to individuals who wish to make a Will, in the hope that people will make a donation to the charity. This year the charity raised over £23,300 which is a great achievement in such difficult times. We are pleased to confirm that we will be supporting the Hospice once again in 2016.
In September several team members participated in a golf day to raise much needed funds for the “Forget-Me-Not” Appeal run by Lister Hospital. It aims to make areas in the hospital more friendly for dementia sufferers so they feel more relaxed and less anxious.
Again in September, the Private Client team supported the national “Remember a Charity in your Will” week by encouraging people to think about including a charity in their Will. Staff gave us many reasons why they would include a charity and these were poignant reminders of why we can all help in some way.
In October two of our staff members, Karen Slatter and Julie Wood baked up a storm in the office (well, cakes and cookies) in aid of Children in Need. Staff did not need reminding and by lunch time all that was left were crumbs. The two ladies raised £150 for the charity.
One of our Family lawyers, Attia Hussain donned her hiking boots and climbed to the top of Snowdonia (and came back again which we were pleased about), in aid of providing food, sanitation and other essentials for refugees across Europe. She did suggest taking the railway up there but was vetoed from this option….!
The firm is always looking for ways to help both the environment and a local charity. This year, instead of sending cards to our clients, we will be making our usual donation to Isabel Hospice, a local charity which we are very proud to support.
Finally, to round the year off, the staff, without fail, give generously to the firm’s annual raffle and all monies raised are given to a number of local charities.
