Still Crackers About Law
Following the success of our theme last year, this year we continue to be 'Crackers about Law'. This is a pun on our passion for law and Christmas. The theme is represented in our office decorations, through Christmas crackers and Nutcrackers, which we have been able to recycle from last year!
Name the Festive Fairy
Our magical Christmas window, ‘Crackers About Law: Have a Cracking Christmas’ was again designed by our very talented friend, PaintParty by Rachel. The fairy artwork has been popular with visitors, children and passers-by.
We started a social media poll and asked our followers to choose a name for the fairy, using names suggested by our staff's children.
We counted the votes and can now reveal that our Christmas fairy will be named...Florence the Festive Fairy! 🧚♀️
Well done to Zach Twiggs, son of Bonnie Twiggs and grandson of Jeff Twiggs, who suggested this name, and won our LinkedIn poll! 👏
For Zach's prize, we have made a donation on his behalf to his chosen charity, Herts Young Homeless 💜🥰 We are pleased to say that due to a national match-funding campaign, Zach's donation has been doubled to £200! Well done Zach!
Thank you to everyone who voted, and of course a special thank you to our amazing window artist, PaintParty by Rachel. 🎨🌟
Please do say hello to Florence the Festive Fairy next time you are in town! 👋
Shoebox Appeal
This year, we are proud to support the Samaritans Purse Christmas shoebox appeal.
When we asked staff to donate items, we were overwhelmed with the amount we received and are pleased to say that in total, we filled 22 shoeboxes!
These will be packed up and sent to children around the world, who might otherwise go without a present this Christmas.
The boxes include essential hygiene items as well as fun toys, stationery supplies and games.
We would like to say a very big thank you to our colleague, Jessica Dance, who organised this initiative and worked hard to distribute all the donated items to fill 22 fantastic boxes.
Our own team of elves had great fun delivering the boxes to the drop off point at The Entertainer.
We really hope the children enjoy receiving their shoeboxes, gifted by Crane & Staples.
Mental Elf Festive Funrun
Team members Amy Tapping and Juliette Fletcher joined their fellow Hertfordshire Junior Lawyers Division in the Mental Elf funrun to support the Mind in Mid Herts charity. We were pleased to sponsor the team and contribute to their fantastic total of £630! Well done team!
