Chris Lane and China Trekkers raise over £28,000 for Isabel Hospice
We did it! Our Great Wall of China trekking adventure was incredible!
Our Isabel Hospice video will give you a taste of the challenges we encountered, from scrambling over boulders to thousands of steps and dizzying heights. The group of 12, many of whose families have been supported by Isabel Hospice, overcame their fears through tears, laughter, singing and friendship.

Watch towers punctuate sections of the wall. One day we passed 14 watch towers, culminating in a 300m climb up steep steps to reach watch tower 24. When we saw it in the distance we thought we’d never get there, but – much to the amusement of the locals – the team fought their way to the top singing Wonderwall by Oasis!
Some of the team had a great fear of heights and were tested to the full with stretches of steep climbs up and down incredibly narrow steps with little support and narrow 3ft walkways. All this was made worthwhile with some absolutely breathtaking views and of course some well deserved cold beer at the end of the day.
All in all it was a trip we will always remember and reunions of the China Warriors have already been planned. We are delighted to have raised over £28,000 for the Isabel Hospice with money still coming in.
I’d love to smash my target of £5,000 so if you are inspired by our story and would still like to contribute to this extremely worthwhile cause, please do so here https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/christopher-lane4 Thank you.
