Attia Hussain becomes President of the Hertfordshire Law Society

We are delighted to announce that our own Attia Hussain is now President of the Hertfordshire Law Society, one of the oldest law societies in the country.

Attia Hussain is a specialist Children Law Solicitor at Crane and Staples Solicitors. From 1 January 2018 she became the President of the Hertfordshire Law Society after having been elected in November 2017.

She is honoured and excited to be serving one of the oldest law societies in the country. Attia is the first Asian solicitor, and the youngest, to have been elected as the President of HLS and very much looks forward to representing its members on both a local and national level.

Attia joined the Hertfordshire Law Society in 2013 shortly after joining Crane and Staples having been encouraged by Partner David Bird.  She had previously served almost two years on the Hastings & District Law Society Council.

An accomplished expert, Attia practises predominantly in Public and Private Children law, as well as Family Law matters including injunctive relief for victims of domestic abuse.  She appears frequently in the Family Court as an advocate representing children, parents, other relatives and foster carers etc.

In February 2017 Attia was granted the Higher Rights of Audience which meant she became a Solicitor-Advocate (Civil) which allows her to represent her clients in the Court of Appeal alongside senior barristers.

Attia is an avid traveller and supporter of legal charities, assisting the most vulnerable in society.   She has skydived from 5,000ft in aid of the London Legal Support Trust. One of her claims to fame is having baked legal themed cakes for the Great Legal Bake Off that appeared in the Legal Cheek magazine and all over Twitter in 2016 and 2017.
