Your Cases
As a well-established firm, we receive instructions on a wide range of exciting, complex and interesting family law cases.
We work on high-level cases that involve the instruction of Silk, and other family specialist counsel from the best sets, as well as renowned pension experts and forensic accountants. Some of our cases end up in the Court of Appeal. We frequently handle cases with leading firms, including top tier London firms, acting on the other side.
We are enthusiastic supporters and referrers of cases to mediation and other ADR, including arbitration and private FDR’s. We are committed to helping parties reach agreement without the need for contested hearings, where possible.
If appropriate, we also undertake our own advocacy in finance and private children cases including final hearings.
You should have experience in private law family cases including:
- Finance case types, ranging from high net-worth divorces involving complex pensions, significant assets, issues of matrimonial and non-matrimonial property, and non-disclosure, as well as nuptial and cohabitation agreements.
- Private law child arrangements cases including abduction and domestic abuse issues

You will join a close-knit team of expert Family lawyers. This is an opportunity to work with some highly regarded family lawyers in the region, including Partner and Head of Department Danielle Peters, Partner Sharon Montgomery and Senior Associate Natasha Khakhar. Danielle, Sharon and Natasha are known for the quality of training and support they provide to their colleagues.
Within the department, and the firm, there is a strong sense of camaraderie, good humour, and genuine friendships between staff of all levels.
You will work closely with your colleagues and regularly meet, either in-person or virtually, to discuss cases, as well as to improve team morale and keep in touch.
As part of our firm’s training policy, you may also be expected to assist junior colleagues. This is an opportunity for you to develop your skills as a mentor, as well as help your colleagues and work as a team. The Family team includes an NQ Private Family Law Solicitor, an NQ Care Solicitor, a Trainee Solicitor and two paralegals.
